When it comes to reading, just because of the posts and articles seem to be long, you can’t skip them. Sometimes it may have some pictures in it. Which may led to seem it really long.

So, I thought to make a simple app for to estimate the reading time of a post. The calculation is based on standard reading speed which is 200 wpm. I’ve named it a Read-O-Meter, which is self-explanatory.

You just paste the post and submit, Read-O-Meter will tell you how much time you may need to finish off reading that write-up.

In this case, people could able to find numerous resources on technology in Internet which are available in English. But, my point was, the localization of technology related knowledge is really important to empower people who are really and only aware about their native language.

Of course, my native language is Tamil, and I thought to share the knowledge related to technology with people in Tamil.

I mainly focused build a knowledge base on Tamil which consists of technology related stuff. I chose the name PuthuNutpam for this project. Puthu means new and Nutpam itself means technology. Literally I just want to reinvent the wheel, which delivering the technology related stuffs in a new way with people in Tamil.

So, I’ve launched the project on first of September 2010, and the best part is that this project getting more exposure within my community and they all want to share their love.

By creating this anbu.info, I’ve tried to add some love to the URLs and make them short to remember, which is you normally won’t able to do in default condition. As most of the URLs are too long to remember. We have many things to memorize, but not the long URLs with some random numbers and characters.

Anbu.info is simply an URL shortening service.

With anbu.info you can make URLs lovable. Just submit the long URL in the site, and you’ll be presented with lovable short URL.

I have already noted about TED open translation project and I was really excited about it. With the technological advantages, we could able to share our knowledge with people all over the world, which is very good.

I found myself that I could make some contributions to TED translation project and make precious ideas to be heard in my native language Tamil. As far as TED is concern, all the talks that are published in the site have the wisdom that should be absorbed by people who have the potential of making this world a better place.

With the intention of mine to contributing to TED talks to translate them in to Tamil language, firstly, I’ve translated a talk of Isabel Allende who made such a nice and amusing talk about passion. I wanted to point out some interesting yet important things she had shared in her talk.

She emphasizes the passion by telling true and real stories. I strongly suggest you to watch her talk, I will embed the talk in this post any way. So let me share some insights, which are I thought to share with you. These are culled from her talk.

Those athletes had sacrificed everything to compete in the games. They all deserved to win, but there’s the element of luck. A speck of snow, an inch of ice, the force of the wind, can determine the result of a race or a game. However, what matters most — more than training or luck — is the heart. Only a fearless and determined heart will get the gold medal. It is all about passion.

Passion always has the power to pave the path for success, I reckon.

Passion lives here. Isn’t it always true? Heart is what drives us and determines our fate. That is what I need for my characters in my books: a passionate heart. I need mavericks, dissidents, adventurers, outsiders and rebels, who ask questions, bend the rules and take risks.

I want to carry in my heart forever the key word of the Olympics — passion.

I think that the time is ripe to make fundamental changes in our civilization. But for real change, we need feminine energy in the management of the world. We need a critical number of women in positions of power, and we need to nurture the feminine energy in men.

I want to make this world good. Not better, but to make it good. Why not? It is possible. Look around in this room — all this knowledge, energy, talent, and technology. Let’s get off our fannies, roll up our sleeves and get to work, passionately, in creating a perfect world.

I believe that if you want to make a change or difference in your society, firstly you should become the change you want. In that case, you don’t have to explain the world what you are up to the life and the way you live speaks itself about the facts and changes you want in the society.

Mahathma Gandhi once said, “Be the change you want to see in the world”. This quote is self-explanatory.

What important is trying to be ourself no matter what circumstances comes in our way and ready ourself to change for good cause. Is it good, isn’t it?

In order to retain the consistency of the natural habitual pattern of villagers, I’ve tried to include green leave and made most greenery stuff to it.

The small version of this logo was used in the site itself. Moreover, this logo being featured in many of my friends Facebook profile picture, as they all were loved this simple design concept.
